Such a trial consists of\nadaptive determination of sample size at an interim analysis\nand implementation of frequentist statistical test at the\ninterim and final analysis with a prefixed significance level.\nThe required assumptions for the stage-wise test statistics are\nindependent and stationary increments and normality.\nPredetermination of adaptation rule is not required.",
